What is the cancellation policy?

  • January 14, 2011 - For lectures, workshops, events, and general registration
  • December 31, 2010 - For hands-on courses

After these dates no refunds - including absences due to illness, late arrivals, weather, or parking difficulties - will be granted.

Pre-registration is required for all No Charge courses listed in the YDC Pre-Registration Program Book or www.yankeedental.com online listings.  Your seat will be held for 15 minutes; after that, those without tickets will be seated according to available space.  When the room is filled, no additional people will be admitted because of fire department regulations. If you have not pre-registered, please be prepared to select an alternate session to attend.

How are CE credits assigned?

General Attendance Credits
MA Dentists: For the 2012 license renewal cycle, CE credits obtained between January 1, 2010 and March 31, 2012, including a total of 5 credits for general attendance at a conference during that period, are allowed.

MA Dental Hygienists: For the 2011 license renewal cycle, CE credits obtained between January 1, 2009 and March 31, 2011, including a total of 4 credits for general attendance at a conference during that period, are allowed.

Starting with the 2014 renewal for MA dentists and the 2013 renewal for MA dental hygienists, all CE credits must be obtained within 24 months prior to renewal. For information about recent changes in MA regulations go to
www.mass.gov/dph/boards/dn.

ADA CERP logo
The Massachusetts Dental Society is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. Concerns or complaints about a CE provider may be directed to the provider or to ADA CERP at www.ada.org/goto/cerp.

CEU Credits
Credit is assigned by the MDS on an hourly basis, subject to final approval by the Board of Registration in Dentistry (BORID) in each state. Lectures and workshops receive one credit per hour (rounded down to the nearest hour). Hands-on courses receive two credits per one hour. For courses not related to patient care, please contact BORID for allowed credit. Please note: Two credits for one hour in hands-on courses do not apply for Maine, NBC, or DANB. Dental assistants must complete a YDC CE form and send it to DANB for approval of courses.

NBC Credits
Certified dental technicians will be granted NBC (National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology) continuing education credit for an NBC-approved course when they sign in with their name, CDT number, and address on the NBC Continuing Education Roster.

AGD Credits
The formal continuing education programs of the Yankee Dental Congress are accepted by AGD for Fellowship/Mastership credit. AGD number is 219251.

DANB Credits
DANB Certificants who attend or participate in Continuing Dental Education (CDE) courses sponsored by the American Dental Association Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP), may be able to use these courses to renew their DANB Certification. It is the responsibility of the Certificant to ensure that courses they take meet DANB’s Recertification Requirements, and that the CDE credits are reported in the appropriate DANB CDE categories, as described in DANB’s Recertification Requirements.

Certified Dental Assistants attending the Yankee Dental Congress will be able to count 1 CDE credit for general attendance.

If you are not sure if a course qualifies for CDE credit you can:

Check DANB’s Recertification Requirements by going to the website: www.danb.org

For any other CDE Questions call the DANB recertification office at:
1-800-367-3262 and select option 2.
