Digital radiographic imaging in dentistry has been accompanied with a lot of enthusiasm due to new opportunities for diagnosis, planning and treatment. High resolution 2D and 3D Cone Beam Computed Tomographic (CBCT) imaging provides for exquisite anatomical detail and the detection of dental disease. These imaging techniques when coupled with recent computer software advances allow dental professionals the ability to visualize the dentition and the maxillofacial complex. Tips, tricks and software techniques designed to help enhance diagnostic accuracy and assist in the improvement of patient care and practice productivity will be presented.
