Roles may vary according to the volunteer’s availability and event needs.
Prior to the meeting, contact the speaker, confirm arrangements, and finalize equipment and handout requests. On-site serves as host to speaker and introduces speaker to audience.Time Commitment Required: Minimum of 3 hours onsite, a couple of phone calls prior.
Responsible for lecture room prior to and during the lecture. Check on handouts and equipment. Check and collect tickets, name badges, distribute course evaluations. Monitor audiovisual, lighting, and temperature.Time Commitment Required: Minimum of 3 hours onsite.
Exhibits volunteers assist YDC personnel with exhibitor registration and exhibit hall traffic builders. Tasks can include assisting exhibitors with registering and assisting staff with crowd control; monitoring exhibit hall contests; escorting celebrity look-a-likes and special guests, and taking souvenir photographs for attendees; and assisting with other tasks as needed.Time Commitment Required: Minimum time commitment varies from 2-4 hours to 1/2 or full day.
Special events volunteers assist YDC staff with a wide variety of tasks such as pre-event set-up, ushering, ticket collection, etc.
