In this course, the instructor will discuss the various pathways and options open for women in pursuing leadership positions in today’s world of dentistry. The focus of this course will be on anecdotes from the instructor's own personal experience, as well as practical tips for navigating any aspect of dentistry, given the unique challenges that women face while balancing all aspects of their lives.

Women Transforming the Profession: How to Help Us Succeed 2:00 - 3:00 pmSpeakers: Judith Fisch, DDS, First District Trustee of the ADA, Kathleen O'Loughlin, DMD, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the ADA; Carol Summerhays, DDS, Immediate past president of the ADA; and Irene Marron-Tarrazzi, DDS, First Vice President of the ADA In this course, attendees will learn about general gender equality trends in health care and dentistry. The instructors will review specific business issues that are unique to women practitioners, and attendees will learn how organized dentistry can help with these issues. In addition, attendees will also review how to maintain a successful work/life balance and understand how to manage their time, stress, and family.
