speaker
James Wu, DDS is a clinical assistant professor at the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine of Boston University and maintains a private practice in Tewksbury, MA.
It has been 35 years since the Toronto Conference in Osseointegration in 1982, the first presentation of titanium implants to the dental academic communities in North America. There have been several paradigm shifts in materials, fixture design, placement, prosthetic, and loading protocols over time. This course will look at these paradigm shifts and look at data that can help us complete an implant restoration for surgery to crown in 6 weeks. We will also look at evidence-based data that will help dispel some commonly held misconceptions on implant loading and occlusion, as well as look at some of the emerging trends in peri-implantitis.
After this course attendees will be able to:
  • Assess the numerous paradigm shifts in materials, fixture design, placement, prosthetic, and loading protocols of titanium implants for the past 35 plus years
  • Identify the latest innovations that can help complete an implant restoration from surgery to crown in six weeks
  • Analyze the evidence-based data that will help dispel some commonly held misconceptions on implant loading and occlusion
  • Understand emerging trends in managing peri-implantitis
  • Explain the use of CBCT in implant dentistry
Recommended Audience: Dentist
