Steven LoCascio, DDS is a clinical associate professor in the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee and a clinical assistant professor in the department of prosthodontics at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans, Louisiana. He maintains a private practice, limited to prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthetics, in Knoxville, TN.
This course will demonstrate the specific clinical procedures involved with the conversion procedure associated with the immediate full arch rehabilitation of patients with end stage dentitions. Attendees will participate in the conversion of a complete denture to an implant supported screw-retained prosthesis utilizing specific abutments and restorative implant components. Clinical hands-on instruction will be available from the instructor of the course.
- List the restorative steps associated with the conversion procedure
- Describe the restorative components needed for a full arch conversion procedure
- Accurately lute temporary titanium cylinders to the conversion prosthesis at the correct verticentric position
- Select appropriate products, procedures, and protocols for specific cases
- Confidently backfill, finish, and polish any conversion prosthesis
