Sam Shamardi, DMD is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a clinical instructor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, division of periodontics. He also maintains a private practice in Boston and Newton, MA.

As implant therapy continues to grow exponentially, so are its corresponding complications. Peri-implantitis is the most common, resulting in significant challenges and long-term issues which if left unaddressed can lead to implant failure. This course will take a closer look at what makes peri-implantitis such a complex problem to manage from the time of placement through the duration of the implant’s lifetime.

After this course attendees will be able to:
  • Define diagnostic criteria for peri-implantitis
  • Recognize clinical and radiographic signs
  • Discuss clinical options to minimize risks
Recommended Audience: Dentist
