Millions of patients have dental implants placed every year around the world and will continue to do so. Once implants are restored, there is a general lack of understanding about what happens to these implants thereafter? Do they all succeed or survive? How can these implants be maintained? What if they get diseased? This course will focus on maintenance of implants and trouble-shooting of peri implant diseases.

After this course attendees will be able to:
  • Develop a maintenance regimen for the implant patient
  • Make early diagnosis of peri-implant diseases
  • Differentiate between success, survival, failure, peri implant mucositis and peri-implantitis
  • Identify risks associated with peri-implant diseases
  • Differentiate between biologic and prosthetic complications
  • Understand the modalities of management of peri implant diseases
Recommended Audience: Dentist
