Treating our seasoned patients can pose challenges that may affect daily life of the elderly. With the majority of medications listing xerostomia as a side effect, the oral implications of aging and disease management is a common concern. Add in dexterity and mobility concerns the ability to care for oneself often deteriorates drastically.

Having the knowledge to recognize the cause and having solution options to treat the conditions and improve ease of care can create strong trusting relationships with your patients.

After this course attendees will be able to:
  • Review the oral-systemic impacts on geriatric patients
  • Identify common ailments affecting the older generation
  • Introduce alternative methods to combat common oral conditions
  • Discuss recommendation options that may be instrumental for maintaining dentition
Recommended Audience: Assistant, Dentist, Hygienist
