The temporomandibular joint is a complex structure than can suffer from multiple orthopedic, inflammatory, and pathological conditions. For this reason, it is crucial that these conditions be described consistently and accurately in order for clinicians to enable effective treatment.

After this course attendees will be able to:
  • Identify what to recognize in our patients when we are doing our initial intake in the dental chair
  • Describe the various orthopedic, inflammatory, and pathological conditions of the TMJ
  • Recognize the importance of the psychological and social aspects of chronic pain and the importance of team referrals
