Jim Grisdale, DDS is a Board Certified Specialist in Periodontics and Prosthodontics with a part-time private practice in periodontics and implant dentistry in Vancouver, British Columbia.

This course is designed for both the implant surgeon and the restorative dentist. With implant dentistry becoming mainstream in daily dental practice, it is imperative for the general dentist to rationalize dental implants as a treatment option, successfully treatment plan implant cases and understand the science of implant surgery and restoration. To achieve optimal goals of the surgical/restorative connection in dental implant treatment it is mandated to have close communication between the implant surgeon and the restorative dentist. This course will focus on the philosophy and criteria associated with restoratively driven treatment planning for predictable surgical placement and restoration of dental implants. It will provide must know information which can be successfully implemented into daily practice. Judicious selection of which implant cases to treat will provide the clinician with the ability to expand the use of implants in their practice. Contemporary concepts and techniques will be examined in the context of incorporating predictable implant therapy into a general practice.

After this course attendees will be able to:
  • Evaluate, correctly diagnose, and treatment plan patients for implant therapy
  • Sequence surgical implant placement and restorative procedures for a successful outcome
