Roger Hallowell, is Adjunct Professor of Strategy and Business Policy at HEC, Paris. His career is dedicated to working with executives on issues of strategic concern to their organizations. He was previously a professor at Harvard Business School, where he conducted research from 1991 through 2003. Roger has designed and delivered customized executive education programs throughout North America, Central America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Roger has an AB from Harvard College (1984) and an MBA and Doctorate from Harvard Business School. He lives near Boston with his wife and two sons.

This course will be a discussion of the best selling Harvard Business School case on Shouldice Hospital illustrates how patients, doctors, and shareholders can win simultaneously. In fact, in order for shareholders to win, patients have to win; for patients to win, there must be a win for employees including doctors, nurses, and staff.

After this course attendees will be able to:
  • Discuss strategy for medical and dental organizations
  • Understand the need for focus in services such as medical and dental organizations
  • See how operations, human resources, and strategy interrelate in a modern service setting similar to a dental practice
