This course will provide dentists (or dental practices) with the knowledge, skills and confidence to expand their practices to include children three years old and younger. In this course, the instructors will discuss rationale and strategies for general dentists (or dental practices) to meet the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Association of Pediatrics guidelines regarding routine dental care for young children, how to seamlessly integrate the age one dental visit into your practice, when and how to use minimally invasive dentistry techniques, and practical behavior management techniques.
Speakers
After this course attendees will be able to:
- Understand the recommendations of AAPD and AAP regarding dental treatment of young children
- Discover tools for overcoming barriers to treating young children
- Identify behavior management techniques for treating young children
- Implement strategies to prevent and treat early childhood caries
