In this hands on course we will discuss all of the practical matters related to treatment of patients with obstructive sleep apnea from initial screening, referral for diagnosis, appliance selection, records, fitting and follow up. Hands-on components will include appliance selection, bite registration, and chairside technique for morning occlusal guide fabrication.
Attendance at the Thursday lecture, course code 407TL, or having taken other foundational sleep apnea courses is strongly recommended.
Speakers
In this course attendees will:
- Understand how to take a patient from initial screening to final follow-up
- Select an appropriate appliance based on what is most likely to work best for a specific patient
- Take a bite registration for a custom oral appliance
- Fabricate a chairside morning occlusal guide to help avoid bite changes and tooth movement
