recognize the need for orthodontic treatment and communicate those needs directly to the parent or caregiver. This course will explore the conditions that benefit from early treatment and the common treatment modalities. Dentists and
hygienists are encouraged to take an active role in communication with the patient and caregiver about the importance of early orthodontic treatment.
Speakers
After this course attendees will be able to:
- Understand the normal eruption sequence of the adult dentition
- Explore the conditions that benefit from early orthodontic treatment (Phase I), and the potential complications if left untreated
- Identify common treatment modalities for early orthodontic treatment
- Acquire the knowledge necessary to discuss orthodontic treatment needs with patients and their caregiver
