Implant restorations can present challenges both for the patient and the practitioner. Single units, full arch restorations, and removable implant prosthesis can have unique issues which much be managed by the restorative dentist. Careful treatment planning from placement to restoration is integral is reducing unwanted issues. Proper diagnosis and communication with the dental laboratory technician are crucial in delivering quality restorative treatment. Restorative design and components must be carefully selected to ensure a successful prosthesis. This course will emphasize the necessity for important treatment planning and awareness prior to any definitive implant restoration. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of implant provisionals, prototypes, and utilization of technology in planning effective restorations.
Speakers
After this course attendees will be able to:
- Utilize information from digital technology to communicate with technicians
- Implement virtual design to treatment plan solutions using screw retained restorations, angled screw channels, abutments, etc.
- Understand the importance of a provisional, verification jigs, and prototypes
- Minimize issues with implant access points and material selection
- Discuss material selection
- Explain management of common issues
