An implant overdenture can be an excellent restorative option for patients who have limited bone, and who may not be able or willing to have additional surgeries. Implant overdentures must be treatment-planned and managed with the same precision as fixed implant restorations. Issues often arise when implant placement is not ideal, or selected componentry is incorrectly utilized. This course will review strategic planning of the removable prosthesis, and different techniques of prosthesis fabrication. Emphasis will be placed on clinical complication issues along with strategies for avoidance and management.
