After this course attendees will be able to:
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of common medical emergencies encountered in the dental office
- Assess and manage emergencies such as syncope, anaphylaxis, asthma attacks, hypoglycemia, seizures, stroke, and cardiac arrest
- Implement a structured emergency response protocol, including activation of EMS when appropriate
- Develop and rehearse an emergency action plan tailored to the specific dental office setting
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and medical histories to help anticipate and prevent emergencies
- Assign and coordinate roles within the dental team during an emergency to ensure a rapid and organized response
- Comply with legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities related to medical emergency preparedness and documentation
