MORNING SESSION
Medical Management of Dental Caries: Using a Chronic Disease Management Mindset

This course will provide the attendee with the most up-to-date information regarding emerging technologies to manage dental caries in your practice, also in non-restorative ways. Specifically, the course will talk about the science behind MMC and how to approach dental caries management from a chronic disease management mindset.

Dental Protocols for Medically Compromised Children
2:00 – 5:00 pm

This course offers attendees the latest insights into the evolving and dynamic field of oral medicine in pediatric dentistry. Through an interactive, case-based format, participants will explore a broad range of common medical conditions in children that have significant implications for dental care. Topics will include asthma, diabetes, congenital heart disease, autism, ADHD, and various syndromes, with a focus on evidence-based dental management strategies. Special emphasis will be placed on tailoring treatment protocols to ensure safe and effective care for medically complex pediatric patients.

MORNING SESSION OBJECTIVES:
- Discover new caries lesion detection technologies and how they will detect caries lesions at an early stage
- Describe the science of dental caries from early lesions to large cavitated lesions
- Understand case selection for early vs. late caries lesion management
- Create and install a workflow for caries management in your practice
AFTERNOON SESSION OBJECTIVES:
- Identify common systemic conditions in pediatric patients that influence dental care and treatment planning
- Apply appropriate dental management strategies for children with chronic medical conditions to ensure patient safety
- Interpret case presentations to enhance clinical decision-making and interdisciplinary communication
- Develop individualized treatment protocols based on current best practices in pediatric oral medicine
