This comprehensive, hands-on course is designed to empower dentists of all skill levels with the essential techniques and critical decision-making skills needed for predictable dentoalveolar socket preservation and optimal site preparation.
You'll gain invaluable insights from two highly experienced specialists: a board-certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and a board-certified Periodontist, who collectively bring decades of clinical practice to the classroom. This unique dual-specialty instruction ensures you benefit from diverse approaches to care and a well-rounded perspective on complex cases.
The course is structured to maximize your learning. A brief, focused lecture will lay the groundwork, followed by real-life clinical case presentations that bridge theory with practical application. This critical understanding then transitions seamlessly into extensive, hands-on exercises where you'll put your new knowledge directly into practice.
You'll gain mastery in suturing and soft tissue management, learning to navigate everything from basic closures to intricate tissue manipulation. We'll dive deep into identifying ideal indications for socket preservation, helping you confidently choose the right approach for diverse clinical scenarios. You'll explore a wide array of bone graft materials and barrier membranes, understanding their unique biological properties and how to select them for superior outcomes.
The course emphasizes atraumatic extraction techniques to minimize bone loss, setting the stage for successful regeneration. Through hands-on exercises, you'll perform various socket preservation methods in both posterior and esthetic zones, ensuring you're proficient in real-world applications. We'll also equip you with the knowledge to prevent and effectively manage potential complications, while teaching you to formulate individualized post-operative care plans to guarantee long-term success for your patients and future prosthetic rehabilitation. Finally, you'll learn to critically evaluate radiographic and clinical outcomes, fostering continuous improvement in your practice.
