CBD, or cannabidiol, is the most prominent naturally occurring cannabinoid component found in cannabis, constituting up to 40% of the plant. CBD uses range from inflammatory disease treatment, dietary support, cancer, ADD, ADHD as well as pet health. With so many varieties, do you know how it will affect your patients during dental treatment, and can it assist long term? This course will empower you!

In today’s dental environment, we must be creative in having our patients disclose their complete medical history without fear of scrutiny and judgement.

Through this course the attendees will learn pharmacokinetics, mechanisms of action and current legal regulations surrounding CBD usage for management of dental related conditions like TMJ, oral pain, and anxiety. The instructor will deliver the key points of HEMP CBD, its components, its delivery systems and many beneficial uses. Upon completion, dental professionals will be able to effectively counsel patients on the risks, benefits, contraindications and appropriate use of CBD products as part of a comprehensive, patient-centered care plan.

Speakers

After this course attendees will be able to:

  • Understand the pharmacology and legal status of CBD
  • Evaluate the evidence based therapeutic application of CBD in dentistry
  • Develop patient communication and integration strategies for CBD usage in the modern dental practice
