is a board-certified periodontist, Professor of Oral Biology, and Assistant Dean for Clinical Research at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. He is an internationally recognized clinician-scientist and educator whose work focuses on peri-implantitis, implant complications, regenerative therapy, and the translation of emerging biologic evidence into clinical practice. Dr. Kotsakis leads multiple NIH-funded research programs investigating peri-implant host immunity and strategies to improve the long-term success of dental implants. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and lectures internationally on evidence-based approaches to peri-implantitis, and serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Periodontology.
