This clinically focused, hands-on course designed to introduce dental professionals to the role of orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) in both pediatric and adult populations. Participants will explore how breathing patterns, tongue posture, and swallowing function influence craniofacial development, airway health, and long-term stability of dental outcomes. Emphasis is placed on recognizing early signs of dysfunction in children, as well as identifying persistent or compensatory patterns in adults.
Through guided instruction and practical application, attendees will learn how to perform efficient, age-appropriate OMT screenings, interpret findings, and integrate screening protocols into everyday clinical workflows. The course also highlights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and timely referrals to support comprehensive patient care. Participants will leave with practical tools to enhance early detection, improve functional outcomes, and expand their role in airway-conscious, prevention-focused practice.

In this course attendees will:
- Identify key signs of orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs) across pediatric and adult populations, and understand their impact on airway, craniofacial development, and function
- Explain the relationship between function and form, including how breathing, tongue posture, and swallowing patterns influence dental and facial structures throughout the lifespan
- Perform basic orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) screening techniques for both children and adults to recognize early and chronic dysfunctions in a clinical setting
- Integrate age-appropriate screening protocols into practice workflows to support early intervention, adult management, interdisciplinary referrals, and improved patient outcomes
