At the conclusion of this course, attendees will be able to describe the dental hygienist’s role in minimally invasive caries prevention and management, recognize and assess early carious lesions, and apply caries risk assessment findings to individualized patient care. Participants will explore evidence-based treatment options that preserve natural tooth structure, support remineralization and caries arrest, and enhance patient-centered decision-making. The course will also review relevant dental codes used in minimally invasive caries management and their application in clinical documentation and reimbursement.

After this course attendees will be able to:
- Explain the dental hygienist’s role in promoting minimally invasive strategies for caries prevention and management within the scope of practice
- Compare treatment options designed to preserve natural tooth structure and support remineralization or caries arrest
- Recognize early carious lesions and assess lesion activity using clinical and radiographic findings
- Apply caries risk assessment findings to individualized prevention, treatment planning, and documentation
- Identify relevant dental codes used in minimally invasive caries management and describe their role in clinical documentation and reimbursement
