TMD cases have a stigma of being tricky. Not necessarily because they are hard to treat, but because the signs and symptoms can present in so many different ways thus making treatment options more confusing to navigate. This course is designed to simplify TMD cases into categories that will lead to more strategic and successful treatment decisions.

Speakers

After this course attendees will be able to:

  • Understand occlusal factors that can contribute to orofacial pain
  • Identify joint versus muscle-related TMD issues
  • Implement a stepwise TMJ evaluation
  • Manage acute TMD emergencies
  • Work through a decision tree to properly select occlusal guard design and material
  • Consider combination treatment modalities for TMD management
