This hands-on course is designed as the clinical continuation of Let's Start with the Temporomandibular Joint and Finish with a Big Smile. Attendees will learn how anterior deprogrammers simplify diagnosis, improve communication, and establish a repeatable starting point for comprehensive treatment planning. Through demonstrations, hands-on exercises, mounted models, and case discussions, clinicians will gain practical techniques they can immediately implement.
Speakers
In this course attendees will:
- Demonstrate and deliver an anterior deprogrammer, including material selection, fabrication, delivery, adjustment, and patient instructions
- Utilize anterior deprogrammers as a diagnostic tool to evaluate muscle engrams, mandibular position, and determine when additional diagnostics are indicated
- Practice taking a record utilizing an anterior deprogrammer and discuss the CR-CO discrepancy and why that is important
- Incorporate deprogramming into comprehensive treatment planning for TMD, worn dentition, veneers, implants, and orthodontic cases
- Improve patient communication regarding splints, bite changes, and the relationship between function and esthetics
