This lecture will focus on the diagnosis and minimally invasive management of acquired and developmental enamel opacities. We will explore the optical properties of these lesions and discuss how transillumination serves as a valuable diagnostic tool for assessing lesion depth and guiding treatment decisions. The role of tooth whitening as a preliminary step will also be examined, both for harmonizing the overall tooth shade and for enhancing the esthetic outcomes of erosion-infiltration therapy. Particular emphasis will be placed on understanding how these conservative approaches can be combined to achieve predictable and highly esthetic results while preserving healthy tooth structure.

After this course attendees will be able to:
- Understand the etiology of enamel opacities and their optical properties
- Comprehend the principles and clinical workflow of erosion-infiltration
- Recognize the benefits of transillumination and how to interpret lesions to determine the most appropriate treatment strategy
- Appreciate the role and advantages of bleaching before erosion-infiltration
- Differentiate between superficial and deep erosion-infiltration approaches
