This introductory course explores the core methods and fundamentals of forensic odontology, including dental identification, age estimation, and bite mark analysis. Attendees will examine real case studies and gain practical insight into how forensic dental evidence is used in investigative and legal settings. The course also provides an overview of the day-to-day responsibilities and professional practices of forensic odontologists, giving students valuable beginner experience and a deeper understanding of the field.
Speakers
After this course attendees will be able to:
- Apply basic methods of dental identification
- Conduct dental identification charting for the FBI NCIC (National Crime Information Center) database
- Implement basic age estimation techniques and dental identification methods to forensic cases
- Utilize basic bite mark analysis for forensic cases
