Clinical technique for addressing the Endodontic Triad for Success has focused on the shaping canals, cleaning in three dimensions, and filling root canal systems as a means of maximizing bacterial reduction or elimination and prevention of reinfection. Unfortunately, traditional treatment protocols come at considerable cost to lost tooth structure, and create far more significant problems than they solve. Image-guided treatment using CBCT allows far more precise and conservative titration of treatment. We use both projection and CBCT imaging to plan endodontic access, to guide canal location and assess treatment efficacy. Using image-guided treatment, innovative treatment protocols that reflect the modern understanding endodontic microbiology and the importance anatomic and structural limitations will be developed in a case-based format. This course is suggested for clinicians considering the accompanying hands-on courses.

After this course attendees will be able to:
- Utilize both projection and CBCT imaging to identify key zones of mutual interest and plan endodontic access
- Identify relevant anatomy while preserving key cervical tooth structure
- Apply modern instrumentation techniques that preserve pericervical zones of dentin, the pulp horn and maximize the tooth's inherent strength
- Gain insight into the counter-intuitive finding that more sensitive technology may allow less treatment, rather than more
