The ability of our patients to open their mouths is vital for mastication, speech, oral hygiene, and dental care. Their inability to open their mouths can have a significant impact on providing the dental care they need. The extra-, intra- capsular and psychogenic etiologies of mandibular hypomobility will be discussed and illustrated with case histories. The differential diagnosis, management and interventional strategies will be described along with long term management protocols.
Speakers
After this course attendees will be able to:
- Understand the differential diagnosis of mandibular hypomobility
- Identify management strategies for patients with limited mouth opening
- Discuss interventional treatments for mandibular hypomobility
