Oral health has long been treated as separate from overall health, yet growing evidence continues to show that the mouth plays a critical role in systemic disease, inflammation, and long-term wellness. Conditions such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, adverse pregnancy outcomes, cognitive decline, and other chronic health issues all have important links to oral health.
In this course, attendees will explore the oral-systemic connection and understand the mouth as a gateway to the body and a key driver of both health and disease. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how oral inflammation, the oral microbiome, pH balance, saliva, and daily habits influence systemic outcomes over time.
The course will also address a critical gap in prevention. While clinicians are trained to diagnose and treat disease, far less emphasis has been placed on how to effectively guide patients in preventing disease at home and in making better daily decisions that support long-term oral and overall health.
Attendees will learn a modern, practical framework for prevention that aligns with how the oral environment actually functions, including how to support the microbiome, manage acidity, protect the oral tissues, and make more informed decisions around daily oral care routines and products. This session connects oral health to longevity and overall wellness, equipping clinicians with actionable strategies to improve both oral and systemic outcomes for their patients.
