Primary and Permanent Tooth Pulp Therapy Guidelines and Techniques

In this course, the speaker will present the only pulp therapy guidelines based on systematic reviews and how they were created. The primary tooth vital and non-vital pulp therapy guidelines will be discussed first. Evidence-based recommendations and techniques to perform a primary tooth pulpotomy, pulpectomy, and lesion sterilization tissue repair (LSTR) will be presented with their indications and contraindications.  This will be followed by the permanent tooth vital pulp therapy guideline recommendations. This course will begin with when to consider a pulpotomy for carious permanent teeth presenting with pain. Techniques for performing permanent tooth partial and full pulpotomies will be shown. Research on whether a direct pulp cap or Cvek partial pulpotomy is best for traumatic exposure in permanent incisors will be explained followed by evidenced based information for reattaching a tooth fragment.
