Replacement of lost teeth is one of the most common problems providers are tasked with solving. Implants have become the ideal method for doing so, however it is not as simple as every empty space can get one. One of the most predictable treatment modalities to help ensure that an implant will be possible is Ridge Preservation. Over the last 4 decades, tremendous gains in knowledge, materials, and technology have garnered endless scientific justification for what we do and how we do it. In this part of the course participants will learn the biologic rationales, the scientific research behind them, modern materials, and basic surgical technique. The content is packaged in such a way that providers of all levels will have an opportunity to learn and fine tune their current practice for the patients’ benefit as well that of the practice.

In this course attendees will:

  • Discuss common systemic conditions and risk assessment
  • Plan extraction cases and strategies
  • Practice basic ridge preservation techniques
  • Understand case presentation of flap design, sectioning of multi-rooted teeth, membrane adaptation, platelet aggregates, and suturing
