In this course, attendees will explore the critical but often overlooked role of hygiene in clear aligner success, moving far beyond tooth movement to examine the full biological picture. Dr. Mahmood presents a structured, science-backed protocol for managing oral biofilm, supporting gingival health, and reducing refinement rates throughout aligner treatment. Participants will examine the bidirectional relationship between periodontal inflammation and systemic conditions, including cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes, and learn how active aligner treatment can amplify these nsks. Attendees will gain practical chairside coaching strategies that improve patient compliance and reduce mid-course corrections without adding chair time. The course concludes with a framework for integrating evidence-based home care recommendations into the aligner patient experience in a way that is natural, patient-centered, and clinically grounded.
