The gummy smile ranks among the most confusing and technique-sensitive areas in cosmetic tox treatment. Successful outcomes require precise patient selection, a clear understanding of lip elevator anatomy, and accurate, conservative injection technique. This focused Masterclass provides an in-depth, evidence-based approach to identifying which gummy smiles are appropriate for Botox treatment—and how to treat them safely and predictably. Learn to identify the correct gummy smile type, select appropriate candidates, choose predictable dosing strategies, and perform targeted injections with accuracy and restraint. Attendees will leave with a practical framework they can apply immediately in practice to achieve consistent, reliable outcomes while avoiding common errors and complications. The supervised hands-on component reinforces these skills allowing clinicians return to their offices prepared to treat this challenging area with greater confidence and competence.
Hands-on treatment is limited to: gummy smile correction using the levator labii superioris alaeque nasi (LLSAN) muscle.
No other facial muscles will be treated during the hands‑on portion of this program. This limitation is intentional and central to the educational objectives of the course.
ATTENTION: THIS IS NOT A CERTIFICATION COURSE. THIS COURSE IS APPROPRIATE FOR PRACTITIONERS WITH PRIOR BOTOX TRAINING.
To inject live patients, you must hold a current Massachusetts dental license. (Out of state licensees see instructions below*) Massachusetts-licensed dentists participating in live-patient treatment are required to provide a copy of their malpractice insurance declarations page.
