Make early dental care a priority for a lifetime of smiles. In this course presented by the American Dental Association Foundation, attendees will gain essential insights and tools, backed by expert guidance, to provide the age one visit and also learn how to incorporate caregivers with babies into existing Give Kids A Smile programs. At the completion of the course, attendees will be empowered to provide top-notch assessments, guidance and referrals for infants and toddlers, ensuring a lifetime of smiles.
Speakers
In this course attendees will:
- Discuss the purpose and importance of the age one dental visit, including how to conduct anticipatory guidance and risk assessments, and best practices for referring to dental specialty providers
- Acquire skills and confidence to conduct age one dental exams like knee to knee exams with caregivers
- Develop effective communication strategies with caregivers to educate and communicate proven prevention methods and promote oral health practices tailored caregivers with young children
