was deployed to New York City following the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, to New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, and to Asheville following Hurricane Helene. From 2016 to 2020, Dr. Cooper was the coroner of Lake County, Illinois, where he managed over 2,200 death investigations. Dr. Cooper is still an active member of DMORT and continues working with coroners and medical examiners across the country doing dental identifications.
