DENTAL TRAUMATIC INJURIES: STRIVING FOR THE BEST OUTCOME
The incidence of dental trauma is highest in the first two decades of life and hence the young permanent anterior teeth are of particular importance in traumatic injuries. Successful retention of these teeth is paramount to long term esthetic, function and health of not just the oral cavity but the physiological impact the loss may have on these young patients. This presentation will review the latest guidelines by IADT and AAE, to understand how and why they have changed over time. Treatment options for each type of injury based on the biological goals will be reviewed with clinical cases. Prognosis of treatment for each type of injury will be review and current literature discussed.
- Review the biologic sequelae of dental traumatic injuries
- Evaluate treatment aims based on current guidelines to maximize positive outcome
- Recognize possible future treatment trends in dental trauma
* Tuition includes coffee and pastry break with an opportunity to network with peers at 10:00 – 10:30 am.
