Meredith Bailey, DMD is the Immediate Past President of the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) and past chair of the American Dental Association (ADA) Council on Ethics, Bylaws and Judicial Affairs. She serves on the ADA Standards Committee on Dental Informatics Working Group 13.8 on Augmented Intelligence and contributed to a whitepaper published in December, 2022 on dental imaging. Dr. Bailey is a general dentist and works full time as a Clinical Assistant Professor and faculty member at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. In addition, Dr. Bailey completed her Masters in Business Administration degree with a concentration in Health Sector Management from the Boston University Questrom School of Business in May 2023. She also serves on the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine alumni board of directors. She received her doctorate in Dental Medicine from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine and completed the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Bailey is a fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. She received the MDS William McKenna Volunteer Hero award, the MDS Ten under 10 award, and the Incisal Edge 40 under Forty award. Dr. Bailey has served on numerous councils and committees within organized dentistry on the national, constituent, and component levels. She is proud to be a founding member of the 14th District in Massachusetts, the Boston District Dental Society, and served as District Chair from 2018-2019.

Advances in technology and systems are being implemented in dental practice to improve patient care and overall patient experiences as well as streamlining office workflow to improve clinical and operational efficiency. Trends have shown an increase in the use of Teledentistry, digital dentistry using CAD/CAM with intraoral scanners, intraoral cameras, virtual reality, augmented intelligence, and artificial intelligence. Will share information from the American Dental Association Standards Committee on Dental Informatics Working Group 13.8 on Augmented Intelligence whitepaper on dental imaging and AI and the continued work on this topic.
