Advanced Endodontics for the General Practitioner
This course will address endodontics from both an endodontic and restorative point of view. The instructor will emphasize the concept of linking restorative dentistry with clinical endodontics. A completely intuitive way of instrumenting a root canal will be discussed as well as various bioceramic techniques. These techniques include obturation (hydraulic condensation), surgical repairs, and pulp capping (both direct and indirect). Finally, a new digitial imaging system will be introduced that results in greater magnification and enhanced visibility.
- Comprehend the endo-restorative relationship and describe the latest techniques to achieve success
- Explain advanced instrumentation techniques
- Discuss the changing paradigm in endodontics that involves pulp capping
- Understand "hydraulic condensation" and why it works
- Implement the application of piezo electric ultrasonics in clinical endodontics
- Embrace the concept of a drill-free post system
